The Modern Diosa is expanding our hair loss and scalp wellness services and is looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate Trichologist / Hair & Scalp Specialist to join our team.

Our ideal candidate understands that hair loss is more than cosmetic. We are looking for someone who can provide thoughtful hair and scalp assessments within their professional scope, educate clients, collaborate with our beauty professionals, and help clients navigate appropriate cosmetic solutions and referrals.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive hair and scalp consultations within professional scope
Gather detailed client hair and scalp histories
Perform non-medical hair and scalp assessments
Educate clients about scalp health and healthy hair practices
Document consultations, observations, recommendations, and progress
Develop appropriate non-medical scalp wellness recommendations
Collaborate with our hair loss and extension specialists
Help determine when clients should be referred to dermatologists, primary-care providers, or other licensed medical professionals
Support clients exploring toppers, wigs, mesh integration, extensions, SMP, and other cosmetic hair-loss solutions
Participate in client education and community outreach
Help develop The Modern Diosa's hair-loss education and consultation protocols

Ideal Candidate

Formal education or certification in trichology
Strong knowledge of hair and scalp health
Experience working with clients experiencing thinning or hair loss
Compassionate and comfortable discussing sensitive concerns
Excellent consultation and communication skills
Strong documentation habits
Collaborative and team-oriented
Passionate about continued education
Understands the boundaries between trichology/cosmetic services and licensed medical diagnosis and treatment

The Modern Diosa | Richmond, VA | Full-Time / Part-Time | Commission + Hourly

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 30.0 per week
