This is more than a typical salon assistant position. Our Stylist in Training program is designed to help future beauty professionals gain real-world salon experience while learning the customer service, retail, technical, and business skills needed to build a successful career behind the chair. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN & DO

As a Stylist in Training, you will gain valuable experience in the day-to-day operation of a professional hair salon, including:

Shadowing experienced professional Hair StylistsLearning salon operations and guest service standardsGreeting clients and creating a welcoming salon experienceAnswering phones and assisting with salon inquiriesLearning salon services, pricing, products, and promotionsHelping educate guests on salon services and professional haircare productsBuilding confidence in retail product recommendations and salesLearning how successful stylists build and retain a clienteleAssisting with front desk and point-of-sale (POS) responsibilitiesScheduling and supporting the guest experienceParticipating in salon training and educationWatching professional training and technique videosPerforming supervised services on models when permittedAssisting with salon cleanliness, organization, stocking, and product displaysAttending salon meetings and participating as part of the salon team.YOUR PATH TO BECOMING A HAIR STYLIST

Our goal is to help you prepare for the next step in your beauty career. Once you obtain your Cosmetology License and demonstrate proficiency in the role, you may have the opportunity to interview for a permanent Hair Stylist position with American Salon Group. WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:

Is currently attending cosmetology school OR recently graduated from a cosmetology programIs working toward obtaining a valid Cosmetology LicenseCan obtain the required cosmetology license within 90 days of hire, as applicableHas a passion for hair, beauty, fashion, and the salon industryProvides excellent customer serviceIs friendly, outgoing, professional, and dependableIs comfortable talking with clients and recommending products and servicesWants to learn, grow, and develop professionallyHas strong communication and interpersonal skillsCan work independently and as part of a salon teamHas basic computer and point-of-sale skillsIs available for a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as neededIs reliable and able to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.WHY START YOUR CAREER WITH AMERICAN SALON GROUP?
