The receptionist has one of the most important positions in the school. The front desk area is the “nucleus” of the Student Salon and the receptionist is the first impression a client or prospective student has of the school, as well as the last. As a representative of the beauty industry that we serve, a receptionist should always look great! You should have the latest hairstyle and the latest make-up look.
It is important to always take a few moments to acknowledge each and every person that walks in the door, no matter how busy you get. Our clients, current students and prospective students need to know that we are here to serve them.
Be very professional and greet clients by their names if they are returning customers. This is a very personal touch and means a great deal to someone when their name is remembered. Please pay close attention and get to know our clients as if they were your own.
In order for the day to run smoothly and in an organized fashion, the receptionist should keep the front desk very clean and orderly. We recommend that you arrive at least 15 minutes before the beginning of your shift. This will give you time to perform all opening procedures and prepare yourself for the day.
