Job Description Job Description Hair Stylist Skills and Qualifications: Strong foundation and passion for hair with at least five years of work experience as a Hairstylist, Hairdresser, Colorist, or similar role Proficiency in hair straightening and curling methods, using hot irons and curlers Must have customer service experience, knowing how to properly greet in-person and over the phone Must understand the importance of "upselling" and building rapport with clients. Ability to take initiative and go above and beyond the Standard Operating Procedures Duties and Responsibilities: Ability to engage customers and identify their preferences by asking pointed questions that help you build rapport and execute the client's desired style Form bonds with loyal customers and remember their hairstyle preferences; upselling products that are used to create their desired style and increase their hair health Consult customers about styles and colors and apply hair care products, like treatment oils and masks Communicate with customers to understand their exact needs, and apply previously acquired knowledge to recommend the best styles for clients.
