Salon Owner Assistant - Curly and Texture Hair

Job Overview

We're looking fora motivated, detail-orientated Salon Assistant to work directly alongside the Salon Owner at our busy Curly and Texture-focused salon in Downtown Los Angeles.

This is more than a traditional entry-level assistant position. You’ll be working hands-on throughout the day, helping keep services moving smoothly, assisting with clients and learning advanced curly, texture and chemical services along the way.

Our ideal person loves hair, enjoys being busy, notices the little things and wants to grow their skills in an environment where no two days are exactly the same.

Responsibilities

Shampoo, condition and prepare clients for services

Blow-dry and assist with styling and finishing

Section and prep hair for color, chemical and texture services

Assist with toners, treatments, product and liquid applications as appropriate to your training and licensing

Prepare tools, products and stations before they’re needed

Help manage the flow of multiple clients and longer transformation services

Keep stations clean, organized and ready throughout the day

Reset the salon between clients and help with towels, laundry and daily side work

Keep client amenities stocked, including water, beverages and snacks

Interact with clients and help create a warm, elevated salon experience

Learn the owner’s workflow and anticipate what needs to happen next

Strong shampooing and blow-dry skills and previous salon experience are a plus.

Schedule

Wednesday–Saturday, approximately 9 AM–8 PM

We work a concentrated four-day service week. Some of our specialty transformations are longer appointments, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys staying active and seeing a service through from beginning to end.

Pay & Growth

Hourly base pay + additional service-assist incentives and performance bonuses.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
