Salon Assistant to Senior Stylist

Responsibilities

Greet clients warmly, confirm appointments, and prepare them for their services
Assist senior stylists with hair cutting, coloring, styling, and finishing techniques including hair extensions and eyelash extensions
Maintain salon cleanliness and sanitation standards, including sterilizing tools like straight razors and implementing proper hygiene protocols
Support with retail sales by recommending hair care products, makeup, nail care items, and retail math to maximize sales opportunities
Manage front desk duties such as scheduling appointments using salon software answering client inquiries, and handling payments
Assist with client communication to ensure their needs are understood and met effectively
Help with store management tasks including inventory checks, organizing supplies, and supporting mentoring efforts for new team members

Qualifications

Previous experience working in the beauty industry or cosmetology is preferred but not required; a passion for hair care and styling is essential
Knowledge of hair coloring techniques, color theory, and hair styling tools is highly desirable
Familiarity with salon software systems such as Meevo or similar platforms for appointment scheduling
Strong communication skills to interact confidently with clients and team members
Ability to perform sanitation procedures diligently to uphold health standards in the salon environment
