Salon Assistant - Part-Time/Full-Time

Immediate Start | Relocating to Hillsdale, NJ in September

Velvet & Mane is seeking a reliable, professional, and energetic Salon Assistant to join our growing team immediately. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a boutique salon environment and grow with us as we prepare for our relocation to our beautiful new Hillsdale location this September.

Responsibilities

Greet clients and provide a warm, welcoming experience
Deliver the signature Velvet & Mane shampoo experience by providing indulgent shampoo services paired with rejuvenating scalp massages that enhance relaxation and client satisfaction.
Prepare and clean styling stations between appointments
Assist stylists with color applications and treatments
Maintain salon cleanliness and organization throughout the day
Launder towels and capes
Stock and replenish retail and backbar products
Help manage appointment flow and support the front desk when needed
Ensure clients receive exceptional service from start to finish

Qualifications

Previous salon experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate
Current cosmetology license or enrollment in cosmetology school is a plus
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
Ability to multitask in a busy salon environment
Dependable, punctual, and eager to learn
