Position Summary

Renewal Skin & Body Center is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented, and creative part-time Salon Assistant to join our team for the busy holiday season!

This seasonal position is an opportunity to contribute to a welcoming, inclusive skin salon while helping with client service, holiday promotions, retail presentation, and social media content creation. We're especially interested in someone who is proficient with Canva or a similar design program, has an eye for detail, enjoys creating engaging content and is willing to pitch in with everyday supportive tasks.

The position is initially temporary, with the potential for continued part-time employment into 2027 based on business needs, performance, and mutual interest. We're looking for someone who can make a positive contribution right away while being open to learning about our salon, products, and services.

Job Description

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, notices the little things, enjoys learning, can problem-solve, and work independently while contributing to a collaborative team. This position requires someone who is reliable, trustworthy, and friendly. Professional verbal and written communication skills are expected. Working hours vary, primarily day shifts but some evenings and Saturdays as needed. In addition to the hourly wage, employees can earn free services and referral bonuses.

What You'll Do

Create engaging content for Instagram and Facebook
Use Canva or a similar design program to create social media graphics, signage, flyers, and other marketing materials.
Proofread and review content for accuracy, spelling, consistency, and visual presentation before publication or distribution.
Help maintain consistent branding and attractive retail displays.
Greet clients and provide a welcoming salon experience.
Respond to client questions and communicate information about our products and services.
Follow up with clients between visits by phone, text, and email.
Perform administrative tasks, create documents, and update materials as needed.
Maintain salon cleanliness, including laundry, mopping, taking out trash, and other routine tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
Proficiency with Canva or a similar graphic design program.
Experience creating social media content, especially for Instagram and Facebook.
Good written communication skills, including spelling, grammar, and proofreading.
Proficiency with using a Windows computer and smartphone.
Reliability, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
Ability to work independently, follow instructions, manage tasks, and ask questions when needed.
Friendly, professional communication and the ability to work respectfully with a diverse clientele.
Reliable transportation.
Must be at least 16 years old.

Previous experience in retail, customer service, or the beauty industry is helpful. We welcome candidates with transferable skills and a willingness to learn about professional skincare, cosmetics, and esthetic services.
