Salon Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Salon Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in providing support to our stylists and ensuring a seamless experience for our clients. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for the beauty industry, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn and grow within the salon environment.

Responsibilities

Assist stylists with hair services, including hair extensions, color application, and styling techniques.
Maintain sanitation standards throughout the salon, ensuring all tools and workstations are clean and organized.
Manage front desk operations, including greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and utilizing salon software such as Vagaro
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client needs and inquiries promptly.
Support retail sales by upselling products and assisting clients in selecting appropriate items based on their needs.
Participate in mentoring opportunities for new staff or interns to foster a collaborative learning environment.
Stay updated on current trends in hair styling, makeup application, nail care, and other beauty services.

Experience

Previous experience or training in cosmetology or barbering is required.
Familiarity with hair extensions, color theory, hair styling and eyelash extensions is advantageous.
Proficiency in salon software systems like Vagaro is a plus.
Strong communication skills with an emphasis on customer service excellence.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
