Salon Assistant

We are your Georgetown neighborhood Aveda salon and spa, located in the heart of Georgetown in Washington, DC. For more than two decades we have serviced friends, families, neighbors, and students with the highest integrity, quality, and style.

A salon assistant is an entry-level role in salons; the position involves maintaining the cleanliness of the salon while assisting experienced stylists. If you're interested in a hairdressing career, this position can be an effective way of developing your skills by learning from experienced hairdressing professionals.

Salon assistants perform a mixture of client-focused services and salon maintenance tasks throughout their workday. For example, salon assistants may sweep up hair after each appointment, disinfect scissors and tools and ensure the hair washing area is clean and clear of any water on the floor. Many elements of a salon assistant's role are on an as-required basis, such as following stylists' requests and/or providing refreshments to clients.
