Receptionist / Guest Experience Coordinator

NEW YORK NAIL BAR – DURHAM

We are looking for a friendly, professional, organized, and detail-oriented receptionist to join our luxury nail salon team. The receptionist is the first impression of the salon and plays an important role in creating a welcoming, high-end guest experience.

Position Overview

The Receptionist / Guest Experience Coordinator will manage front desk operations, greet clients, assist with appointments, process payments, support salon flow, and help maintain a clean and professional environment.

This role requires strong communication, multitasking, professionalism, and the ability to stay calm during busy hours.

Responsibilities

Guest Experience

Welcome guests warmly and professionally
Check clients in and out using salon booking/POS system
Offer beverages and ensure guests feel comfortable
Maintain a positive, luxury customer service experience
Answer phone calls, texts, and online booking inquiries promptly
Handle guest concerns professionally and notify management when needed

Appointment & Front Desk Management

Schedule and confirm appointments accurately
Manage walk-ins and waitlists efficiently
Coordinate technician rotation fairly and accurately
Communicate service timing and pricing clearly to clients
Help maintain smooth salon flow during busy periods

Payments & Daily Operations

Process payments, tips, gift cards, and memberships correctly
Balance cash drawer and receipts at end of shift
Assist with retail recommendations and product sales
Keep front desk clean, organized, and stocked
Monitor salon cleanliness and presentation throughout the day

Team Support

Communicate effectively with technicians and management
Help restock supplies when needed
Support opening and closing procedures
Maintain professionalism with coworkers and guests at all times

Qualifications

Previous receptionist, customer service, or salon/spa experience preferred
Strong communication and multitasking skills
Friendly, polished, and professional appearance
Comfortable using computers, iPads, booking systems, and POS systems
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and organization
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
English fluency required; Vietnamese speaking is a plus
