Must have 2+ years of professional grooming experience. We do not provide training. Pay is 50% commission plus tips. This shop is growing and in need of a second groomer to handle overflow and continued growth.
```Duties:```
- Groom and style pets according to client specifications and breed standards
- Bathe, brush, and trim pets' fur or feathers
- Clip nails, clean ears, and perform other basic grooming tasks
- Assess pets' skin and coat condition and recommend appropriate treatments or products
- Handle pets with care and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the grooming process
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area
```Experience:```
- Previous experience as a pet groomer is a must.
- Knowledge of different breeds, coat types, and grooming techniques
- Familiarity with grooming tools and equipment
- Ability to handle animals of all sizes and temperaments
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow client instructions
Skills:
- Animal handling: Ability to safely handle and restrain animals during grooming procedures
- Heavy lifting: Ability to lift and carry heavy pets or equipment as needed
- Dog handling: Proficiency in handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Veterinary technician: Knowledge of basic veterinary procedures and medical conditions related to grooming (preferred but not required)
- Pet care: Understanding of pet behavior, nutrition, and general care practices
- Customer service: Excellent communication skills and ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Animal care: Passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing compassionate care
