Duties

Perform professional hair braiding, weaving, and styling services tailored to each client’s preferences and hair type
Incorporate hair extensions, coloring, and hair threading techniques to enhance styles and meet client needs
Maintain high standards of sanitation and sanitation protocols, including the proper use of straight razors and barbering tools
Provide excellent customer service by listening carefully to client requests, offering styling advice, and upselling retail products such as hair care items.
Manage appointments using salon software like VAGARO; handle front desk duties including scheduling, check-in/out procedures, and client consultations
Mentor junior team members on hair styling techniques, sanitation practices, and customer engagement strategies
Stay current with industry trends in hair coloring, color theory, and new braiding styles to continually elevate your craft

Qualifications

Proven experience working in the beauty industry with a focus on hair styling and braiding techniques
Strong knowledge of salon software systems such as VAGARO for appointment booking and retail management
Skilled in various hair services including hair extensions and hair threading
Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse clients and understand their styling goals
Knowledge of sanitation standards for cosmetology tools including straight razors and barbering equipment
Ability to multitask effectively at the front desk while maintaining a friendly demeanor
Demonstrated ability to upsell retail products through personalized recommendations
Certification in cosmetology or barbering preferred; additional training in color theory or retail math is a plus
