Messiah Lifeways is a non-profit organization located in Mechanicsburg, PA, that provides a network of services for adults, 55 and better living in South Central PA. Our roots trace back to 1896, when the Brethren in Christ Church founded Messiah Home in Harrisburg, PA, to serve older adults with Christ-like love.
Who You Are
The Stylist is tasked with performing hair and nail care procedures (as licensed) necessary for the general well-being and comfort of residents and employees.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have knowledge of/experience in the following:
Strong proficiency in technology and systems management - Office Suite (Microsoft), and scheduling systems
Proficient interpersonal / customer service skills - Able to communicate effectively, with team members, and residents, and members of the community. Represents the organization in a professional and engaging manner
What You’ll Do
Responsible for sterilization and sanitation in their area according to State law
Maintain the service room in a neat, clean order
Schedules service appointments and take payments for services through the point-of-sale system
Communicate product needs with the Lead Stylist or Salon Services Manager as appropriate
Communicate possible health care and safety needs to the coordinators of the appropriate levels of living
Responsible for returning personal belongings (i.e. eyeglasses, hearing aids) to the resident being serviced
Follow emergency procedures and respond rapidly and appropriately to emergencies, ensuring the safety of the residents and team members
Follow proper procedures and promote safe work practices to maintain a safe working environment
Follow departmental policies and procedures to ensure a productive working environment
Potential career growth track: Salon Services Manager
What Else You’ll Need
Required to have current Cosmetology Operator's License in the State of Pennsylvania
