GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Premier Stylist is dedicated to engaging with guests, assessing their hair care needs, and suggesting appropriate products and services. You will provide top-notch professional services while focusing on the guest's overall appearance. Collaborating with the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager, you will enhance performance, guest service, and adherence to operational standards. A genuine passion for the beauty industry, a commitment to exceptional guest service, and a willingness to learn and share product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions)

Performance

Deliver a variety of hair services including cuts, color, texture treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).Achieve an average of $1900 in weekly sales and meet or exceed productivity goals for hair services while ensuring outstanding guest experiences.Perform product demonstrations to enhance guest engagement and drive sales.Support the execution of in-store events, promotions, and marketing efforts that elevate the guest experience.Stay informed about new beauty trends, products, and services to provide informed recommendations to guests.Maintain regular, punctual attendance.PeopleBuild strong guest relationships through personalized consultations and suitable product and service recommendations.Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins, ensuring timely service.Collaborate with skin therapists and the retail team to create a well-rounded guest experience.Establish professional relationships with peers and brand partners to enhance guest service.Educate guests on the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.Participate in mandatory trainings and meetings for ongoing professional development.ProcessEnsure familiarity with and compliance to Ulta Beauty's policies, procedures, and standards.Adhere to safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures before, during, and after services while complying with state regulations.Follow established service protocols to maintain an exceptional guest experience.Utilize booking systems effectively to schedule guest appointments and events.Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager to ensure readiness for guests.Maintain high operational standards including cleanliness of the salon, sales floor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and additional assigned spaces.Follow the Ulta Beauty dress code.Adhere to loss prevention best practices to safeguard company assets while providing outstanding guest service.Complete additional operational tasks as assigned.JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EducationCosmetology license required.ExperiencePrior relevant experience preferred.SkillsExpertise in modern salon techniques for haircutting, coloring, styling, and makeup services with a willingness to adapt and learn.Skill in using necessary equipment and chemicals for technical work.Ability to promote, recommend, and sell professional hair care and makeup products.Excellent communication skills.Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.Strong relationship-building skills to foster a loyal clientele.SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTSWilling to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
WORKING CONDITIONSContinuous mobility throughout the shift.Frequent lifting/moving up to 10 lbs.Regular bending, reaching, and twisting during shifts.Ability to stand for extended periods.Ongoing coordination and manipulation of salon tools and products.

The hourly pay for this role is $21.00, with opportunities for additional earnings based on services provided and tips from guests. Full-time associates may receive paid time off, as well as health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits. Part-time roles come with dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
