Part-Time Natural Hair Stylist

Overview

The Natural Hair Room (TNHR) is a boutique natural hair salon opening in Cranston, Rhode Island, dedicated to nurturing and caring for Type 3 and Type 4 hair. We believe healthy hair begins with patience, education, and intentional care. Our salon will provide a calm, welcoming, appointment-only environment where clients receive personalized services focused on hair health, wellness, and education.

As we prepare for our grand opening in late Summer 2026, we are seeking passionate, part-time Natural Hair Stylists who share our commitment to helping clients embrace and care for their natural hair through education, mentorship, and exceptional service.

Position Summary

As a Natural Hair Stylist at TNHR, you will provide high-quality natural hair services while educating and empowering clients to maintain healthy hair practices. This role is ideal for a stylist who takes a gentle approach to hair care and is invested in the long-term health of their clients' hair.

Responsibilities

Perform natural hair services for clients with Type 3 and Type 4 hair textures
Consult with clients to understand their hair goals, offering personalized recommendations based on hair type and desired style
Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by properly cleaning tools, equipment, and workstations after each client
Provide gentle detangling, cleansing, conditioning, steam treatments, and styling services
Offer customized recommendations for at-home hair care and maintenance
Educate clients on healthy hair practices, product selection, and styling techniques
Create a positive, relaxing, and professional salon experience
Build lasting relationships with clients through exceptional customer service and trust
Participate in ongoing education and mentorship opportunities focused on natural hair care

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Type 3 and Type 4 hair textures
Experience with services such as:
Twists, Twist-outs, and Corn-Rows
Deep Conditioning and Steam Treatments
Protective Styling
Natural Hair and Loc Maintenance
Hair Health Consultations
