PART-TIME LICENSED HAIRSTYLIST ASSISTANT

Extensions By MT is seeking a polished, dependable and motivated licensed hairstylist assistant to support a luxury hair-extension and color specialist approximately 20 hours per week.

This position is ideal for a newly licensed stylist who is passionate about hair extensions, color and elevated client service—and wants hands-on experience while learning advanced techniques in a private salon environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain a clean, organized and luxurious salon suite
Shampoo, blow-dry and prepare clients for services
Assist with extension removals, installations and maintenance
Organize extension hair, color, tools and supplies
Sanitize tools and reset the suite between appointments
Welcome clients and help provide an exceptional experience
Confirm appointments and respond to basic client messages
Monitor inventory and assist with product and extension orders
Capture high-quality before-and-after photos and videos
Assist with Instagram Stories, Reels and social-media content
Run occasional salon-related errands
Maintain complete professionalism and client confidentiality

Qualifications:

Active California cosmetology or hairstylist license required
Reliable, punctual and highly organized
Polished appearance and professional communication
Comfortable shampooing and blow-drying different hair textures
Interested in learning luxury hair-extension methods
Comfortable taking photos and videos for social media
Able to multitask and remain calm during busy appointments
Positive attitude with a willingness to clean, assist and learn
Dependable transportation preferred
Some afternoon, evening and weekend availability may be required

Compensation:

Starting at $20 per hour
Approximately 20 hours per week
Tips when applicable
Retail commission opportunities
Hands-on education in K-tips, wefts, color and luxury client service
