Planted Hair Concepts is growing — and we're looking for the next stylists to grow with us.

Planted Hair Concepts is a professional textured-hair salon specializing in healthy natural hair, scalp care, precision cutting, protective styling, extensions and loc maintenance.

We are not a high-volume “get them in and out” salon.

Our guests come to Planted for more than a hairstyle. They come for expertise, education, healthy-hair guidance and an elevated experience. Every appointment is built around our philosophy:

As we expand our Dallas team and prepare for our McKinney location, we're looking for stylists who are talented, coachable, professional and genuinely interested in becoming exceptional at textured hair.

What You'll Do

As a Planted stylist, you may be trained and certified to perform services including:

Healthy natural-hair maintenance
Shampooing, conditioning and treatment services
Blowouts and silk presses
Natural styling
Two-strand twists and protective styling
Precision trims and healthy-hair maintenance
Scalp and hair assessments
Loc maintenance
Extensions, based on experience and certification
New-guest consultations and hair-care planning

Stylists are only assigned services they have been trained and approved to perform independently.

Planted Career Path

Newer stylists may enter through our Academy/Developing Stylist pathway, beginning at $15/hour, depending on experience and demonstrated skill.

Advancement is performance-based.

As stylists demonstrate technical proficiency, productivity, guest retention, reliability, service timing, consultation skills and mastery of Planted standards, opportunities are available for increased compensation and advancement into:

Developing Stylist → Planted Stylist → Senior Stylist → Lead Stylist

Completion of an introductory or 90-day period does not automatically guarantee a raise or promotion. Advancement is based on demonstrated performance and mastery of role expectations.

Experienced candidates may be considered for a higher starting level based on their practical evaluation, experience and qualifications.

A current Texas cosmetology license or other credential legally required for the services performed is required where applicable.

Our Interview Process

We take hiring seriously because protecting our guest experience matters.

Qualified applicants may complete:

Application Review → Virtual Interview → In-Person Interview + Model Practical → Paid Salon Evaluation → Offer

The model practical allows us to evaluate consultation skills, client communication, technical ability, professionalism and coachability.

Schedule

Planted operates Monday–Saturday.

This position is expected to average approximately 24–30 hours per week, depending on salon demand, availability, performance and business needs.

Weekend/Saturday availability is strongly preferred.

Compensation

Starting at $15/hour for Academy/Developing candidates.

Higher starting compensation may be considered for experienced candidates based on demonstrated skill, qualifications and the position offered.

Planted uses a structured, performance-based career path with opportunities for increased compensation and advancement.
