We are looking for an experienced Hair Stylist / Hair Color Artist wanting to build a career within our small friendly team.

Qualifications we’re looking for
An Oregon Cosmetology License.
Must be self-motivated, with a good attitude.
Be customer focused with excellent communication skills.
Be a Team-Player.
A lot of our clientele comes from the nearby retirement community. We ask that you be able and willing to work with elderly clients by demonstrating patience, gentleness, and kindness.
Up-to-date with industry trends.
Self motivated to build your own clientele.
Extra skills that will put you ahead (but are not required):
A license in skin care or nail care in addition to hair care is useful, and can earn you more money.
Experience or knowledge of Aveda products helpful but not necessary.
Experience in sales, and a willingness to recommend products to your clients.
Responsibilities:
Provide personalized hair styling and coloring services tailored to each client's needs and preferences.
Demonstrate patience, gentleness, and kindness when working with elderly clients from the nearby retirement community.
Recommend and sell Aveda products to clients, contributing to monthly retail sales goals.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and techniques to continuously improve skills.
Build and nurture a loyal clientele through excellent customer service and professional communication.
Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and supportive salon environment.
Maintain a clean and tidy environment and follow all sanitation requirements.
Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage guest checkouts.
Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance technical and sales skills.
We are a small 3 chair salon. Our team of hair stylists are passionate about hair and committed to providing excellent service to our guests. We provide a comfortable environment where we support one another in our personal and career goals so that we can thrive together.
Salon Nyla opened downtown in 1986 and relocated to Russellville Park adjacent to a retirement community in 2007. The retirement community provides us with half of our regular weekly clientele.
We are an Aveda Concept Salon, meaning that all the products we use are made of very high quality, all-natural eco-friendly, vegan ingredients.
Our mission is to give back to the community (and the world around us) when we can. Each year Salon Nyla fund raises for Columbia Riverkeeper, to help keep our rivers and drinking water clean. And Soroptimist of America of Portland, a non profit group that works to provide women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.
Pay: $18.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
