Join the team at Snips & Spikes Kid Salon, a fun, welcoming salon designed especially for kids and families!

We are looking for a Licensed Cosmetologist / Kids’ Hair Stylist who is patient, dependable, friendly, and genuinely enjoys working with children. Our salon serves children of all ages and abilities, including children who may need a little extra time, patience, or a calmer approach during their haircut.

This position will begin at approximately 24 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours as your schedule and clientele grow. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with our salon and become part of a supportive, family-friendly environment.

Starting Pay: $12/hour + tips

Responsibilities

Provide quality haircuts and basic styling services for children and adultsCreate a positive, fun, and comfortable haircut experience for kidsWork patiently with children who may be nervous, wiggly, shy, or unsure about haircutsAdapt your approach when working with children with sensory differences or special needsCommunicate kindly and professionally with parents, caregivers, and clientsKeep your station, tools, and equipment clean and properly sanitizedFollow all North Carolina cosmetology sanitation and safety requirementsAssist with keeping shared salon areas clean and organizedHelp create the friendly, welcoming atmosphere Snips & Spikes is known forWork cooperatively with other team membersAssist with basic salon duties during slower periodsQualifications & Experience

Current North Carolina Cosmetology License requiredComfortable performing children’s and adult haircutsExperience cutting children’s hair is preferred, but we are willing to consider the right stylist who is eager to learnMust be patient and comfortable working with children of different ages, personalities, and abilitiesExperience working with autistic, sensory-sensitive, or neurodivergent children is a plus, but not requiredFriendly and professional communication skillsDependable and able to arrive on time for scheduled shifts and appointmentsWillingness to learn our approach to creating positive haircut experiences for childrenAbility to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environmentWhat We Offer
