GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Junior Hair Stylist is a temporary role aimed at grooming talent for a permanent stylist position, focusing on providing quality hair services and enhancing the guest's total look. You’ll work closely with an Elite or Master Stylist for an initial three-month mentorship, honing your skills in performance, guest interaction, and operational excellence. After the mentorship period, you will begin offering services to guests independently.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)

PerformanceDeliver outstanding guest service while meeting or surpassing sales and loyalty goals.Assist the assigned mentor Stylist with a range of hair services including:Shampoo and treatment processesBlowouts and stylingColor applications and foilsSanitation and organization dutiesPre-booking for servicesRetail recommendationsConduct hair services after the mentor period, including haircuts, color, treatments, and makeup.Engage guests with product demonstrations and promote in-store events.Stay updated on industry trends and product knowledge.Maintain regular and punctual attendance.PeopleBuild rapport with guests through consultations and tailored recommendations.Serve guests promptly, including walk-ins, under the guidance of your mentor.Collaborate with team members to enhance the overall guest experience.Promote the guest loyalty program and app.ProcessAdhere to all company policies and safety guidelines.Follow standards for sanitation and infection control in all practices.Utilize booking systems effectively to manage appointments.Keep salon and store areas clean and inviting.Attend required training sessions for professional growth.Comply with the dress code and operational procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Cosmetology license required.Skills

Fundamental understanding of hair techniques and services, with a willingness to learn.Basic knowledge of salon equipment and product usage.Exceptional communication skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.Strong relationship-building skills with guests and colleagues.SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

A flexible schedule is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.WORKING CONDITIONS

The pay range for this position is $16.90 - $16.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Eligible associates may receive overtime pay and tips, along with benefits for full-time and part-time positions.
