General Summary & Scope
The Junior Hair Stylist engages with guests to understand their hair care needs, offering personalized product and service recommendations. This temporary position aims to prepare you for a stylist role by focusing on performance, guest service, and operational compliance under the mentorship of an Elite or Master Stylist for the initial three months. As you progress to months four through six, you will begin to service guests independently with a focus on delivering quality professional services.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

PerformanceDeliver outstanding guest service, striving to exceed sales and guest loyalty goals.Support your mentor Stylist in achieving productivity targets by assisting with services and recommendations.After three months, perform hair services including cuts, color, styling, and treatments.Engage guests through product demonstrations to enhance their experience and drive sales.Participate in promotional events and marketing initiatives to create an exceptional guest experience.Continuously learn about industry trends and products to provide informed recommendations.Maintain regular and punctual attendance.PeopleDevelop relationships with guests through consultations and service recommendations.Serve all guests efficiently as you learn from your mentor Stylist.Collaborate with skin therapists and the retail team to enhance the guest experience.Promote the benefits of our guest loyalty program effectively.ProcessUnderstand and adhere to Ulta Beauty's policies and standards.Follow safety and sanitation procedures consistently.Utilize booking systems for guest appointments effectively.Communicate supply needs to ensure a ready environment for guests.Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the salon.Attend required training sessions for personal and professional development.Follow the Ulta Beauty dress code and best practices for loss prevention.Complete additional operational tasks as assigned.Job Qualifications

EducationCosmetology license required.SkillsBasic understanding of salon techniques for hair services and the ability to learn quickly.Knowledge of salon equipment and product recommendations.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively.Skill in building rapport with customers and developing clientele.Special Position Requirements
