About the role

We are looking for a Guest Care Attendant who enjoys helping people, preparing beautiful spaces and supporting an exceptional guest experience. If you've worked in a salon, spa, hotel, wellness clinic, luxury retail, hospitality or customer service environment, this role may be an excellent fit.

Perfect for candidates with experience in: salons, spas, beauty retail, esthetics, luxury hospitality, boutique hotels, wellness clinics, concierge services or premium customer service.

ROOT Head Spa is creating a new standard for scalp care, restorative beauty and thoughtful hospitality.

We are looking for a Guest Care Attendant who enjoys helping people, preparing beautiful spaces and supporting a service team behind the scenes. This is an active role for someone who is observant, organized and willing to step in wherever care is needed.

You do not need to be a licensed cosmetologist to apply. An active California cosmetology licence, current cosmetology education or an interest in pursuing cosmetology would be an added advantage and may create opportunities for expanded responsibilities as you develop.

Required qualifications

Legally authorized to work in the United States
Available for the required schedule, including assigned evenings and weekends
Able to complete mandatory paid ROOT training
Able to stand, bend, reach and remain active throughout the shift
Comfortable following sanitation, equipment care and guest safety standards
Reliable, organized and attentive to detail
Comfortable learning about professional products
Willing to contribute to hospitality, service and retail goals

Added advantages

Active California cosmetology licence
Currently enrolled in cosmetology school or planning to pursue cosmetology
Experience as a salon assistant, spa attendant or shampoo technician
Experience in hospitality, wellness, luxury retail or guest service
Experience using Zenoti or other salon booking software
Professional haircare or scalp care product knowledge
Experience stocking, merchandising or maintaining retail displays

What you will do

Prepare and reset head spa treatment rooms
Organize products, tools, towels, robes and guest supplies
Maintain sanitation, cleanliness and disinfection standards
Assist guests with slippers, robes, refreshments and movement between service areas
Maintain linen flow and communicate restocking needs
Review appointments using Zenoti or other salon booking software
Support product readiness, back bar inventory and retail displays
Learn product features, benefits and appropriate uses
Answer basic product questions within your training
Support opening and closing procedures
Assist Hosts, Guides, Artisans and Specialists throughout the guest journey
Perform shampooing, scalp cleansing or finishing services only when properly licensed, trained and authorized

Hospitality at ROOT

Hospitality is expressed through small details. It is preparing the room so guests never feel the rush happening behind the scenes. It is offering clear guidance without making them feel managed.

You do not have to be highly outgoing. You do need to be observant, respectful and genuinely interested in helping people.

Retail responsibilities

Keep displays clean, organized and fully stocked.
Maintain testers and product presentation.
Learn key product information.
Answer basic product questions within training.
Connect guests with the appropriate Guide, Artisan or Specialist.
Support product checkout when required.
Track low stock and communicate inventory needs.
Contribute to the overall retail environment and shared goals.
