Role Description The Hairstylist is a full-time, on-site position based at Coco and Buff Salon in Lutherville, MD. In this role, the Hairstylist will consult with clients to understand their preferences, provide haircuts, styling, coloring, and treatments, and recommend appropriate hair care routines and products. Daily responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized workstation, adhering to salon safety and sanitation standards, managing appointment schedules, and ensuring each client receives professional, attentive service. The Hairstylist will also collaborate with the salon team, participate in training or education sessions as needed, and contribute to a positive, inclusive atmosphere that supports repeat business and referrals.

Qualifications

Demonstrated proficiency in Hair Styling and Hair Care, with the ability to provide a range of services such as cutting, coloring, and finishing.Formal training or certification in Cosmetology, along with knowledge of industry standards, safety practices, and relevant state licensing requirements.Strong Customer Service skills, including the ability to build rapport, respond to client needs, and support an inclusive, welcoming client experience.Effective Communication skills to conduct consultations, explain services and products clearly, and collaborate with team members.Ability to stand for extended periods, manage multiple appointments, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.Willingness to participate in ongoing education, stay current with trends and techniques, and adapt to new products or services.Previous experience in a salon setting is preferred but not required; a professional portfolio or examples of work are a plus.
