Role Description
The Style Lounge is seeking a passionate, creative, and professional Hairstylist / Color Specialist to join our dynamic team in Reading, MA. This is a part‑time or full‑time on‑site position with opportunities for growth, education, and career advancement.

The ideal candidate is confident behind the chair, motivated to continue building their clientele, and passionate about creating beautiful, customized results for every guest. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced luxury salon environment and values professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

Providing customized hair services including dimensional color, blonding, balayage, lived‑in color, highlighting, haircutting, styling, glosses, treatments, extensions (preferred but not required).
Performing professional consultations and recommending long‑term hair care plans.
Maintaining the health and integrity of clients’ hair through proper formulation and techniques.
Delivering exceptional guest experiences from consultation through checkout.
Building and maintaining strong client relationships and retention.
Staying current with industry trends, education, and social media marketing.
Maintaining cleanliness and professionalism throughout the salon.
Collaborating positively within a team‑focused environment.

Qualifications

Active Massachusetts Cosmetology License.
Minimum 2+ years salon experience.
Strong knowledge and confidence in hair color formulation, blonding and lightening services, balayage and highlighting techniques, haircutting and styling.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Professional, reliable, team‑oriented attitude.
Passion for continued education and growth within the beauty industry.

Preferred

Existing clientele or active client‑building mindset.
Experience working with luxury salon clientele.
Knowledge or experience using Goldwell color lines.
Experience with extensions and specialty services.
Strong social media presence or willingness to market yourself online.
