Responsibilities
Perform a variety of hair services including cutting, coloring, styling, and hair extensions to meet client needs and preferences
Assist senior stylists with client consultations, preparation, and service execution to ensure smooth salon operations
Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all work areas according to health regulations
Use salon software such as MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently
Provide expert advice on hair care routines, product recommendations, and upselling retail items to enhance client satisfaction
Support front desk duties including greeting clients, managing bookings, and handling client communication with professionalism
Mentor junior team members in techniques like hair threading, eyelash extensions, makeup application, and nail care to foster skill development
Skills
Proficiency in salon software systems such as MINDBODY for appointment booking and client management
Strong knowledge of hair coloring techniques and color theory principles
Experience working in the beauty industry with expertise in hair styling, cutting, coloring, and extensions
Skilled in barbering techniques including straight razor shaves when applicable
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and build rapport with clients
Knowledge of sanitation practices to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
Ability to perform specialized services such as eyelash extensions, hair threading, and nail care when needed
Familiarity with retail sales strategies including upselling products like hair care items and cosmetics
Store management experience or understanding of retail math to support sales goals
Mentoring abilities to guide junior staff in cosmetology techniques and client communication
