Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Hairdresser role based at Salon CŪ in Somerville, MA. The Hairdresser will provide a range of services, including consultations, hair cutting, styling, coloring, and treatments tailored to each client’s needs and preferences. Daily responsibilities include greeting clients, assessing hair condition, recommending appropriate services and care, and maintaining detailed service notes where required. The role also involves maintaining a clean and organized workstation, following salon hygiene and safety standards, and supporting front-of-house tasks such as scheduling, product recommendations, and payment processing as needed. The Hairdresser will collaborate with the salon team, participate in training and education sessions, and contribute to a positive, inclusive atmosphere for clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

Proficiency in Hair Cutting and Hair Styling, with the ability to work with diverse hair types, lengths, and textures.Strong Hair Care knowledge, including treatments, maintenance routines, and product recommendations.Cosmetology training and skills; active cosmetology license in Massachusetts (or eligibility to obtain) preferred.Customer Service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and a professional, client-centered approach.Ability to work on your feet for extended periods, manage a steady client schedule, and maintain punctuality and reliability.Openness to continuing education, learning new techniques, and participating in team trainings and salon events.Previous salon experience is preferred but candidates with strong foundational skills and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
