Responsibilities

cosmetologist or barber license required
Perform a wide range of hair services including cutting, styling, coloring, and texturizing to meet client preferences and current trends
Apply hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and perform hair threading to enhance client looks
Use salon software such as MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process sales efficiently
Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations and salon protocols
Provide expert advice on hair care products, retail sales, and upselling opportunities to maximize client satisfaction and salon revenue
Assist with front desk duties such as greeting clients, managing appointments, and handling client inquiries professionally
Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques in hair styling, barbering, makeup application, nail care, and retail strategies

Skills

Proficiency in hair styling techniques including cutting, blow-drying, curling, and straightening
Experience with color theory for creating customized color treatments and highlights
Skilled in barbering techniques such as straight razor shaves and beard grooming
Knowledge of salon software systems like MINDBODY for appointment booking and retail management
Strong communication skills to understand client needs and provide personalized recommendations
Excellent sanitation practices to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
Store management experience is a plus for overseeing daily operations and team coordination
Capable of mentoring team members in technical skills and customer service excellence
Retail math skills for effective upselling of products while maintaining integrity and client trust
