Duties

Perform a variety of hair services including cutting, styling, coloring, and texturizing to meet clients’ individual needs and preferences
Apply advanced techniques such as hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and hair threading to enhance client looks
Consult with clients to understand their desired outcomes and recommend suitable treatments or products
Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in accordance with industry regulations and salon policies
Utilize salon software like MINDBODY for appointment scheduling, client management, and retail sales tracking
Upsell retail products such as hair care items, styling tools, and cosmetics to boost revenue while providing value to clients
Mentor junior team members and contribute to a positive team environment through knowledge sharing and support

Skills

Expertise in hair styling techniques including blowouts, braiding, curling, straightening with a straight razor, and precision cuts
Proficiency in color theory for creating vibrant highlights, balayage, or corrective color services
Experience with salon management tasks such as front desk operations and store management responsibilities
Strong communication skills to connect effectively with clients and team members alike
Knowledge of sanitation standards specific to cosmetology and barbering practices
Ability to operate salon software like MINDBODY for scheduling and retail transactions
Skilled in retail math for accurate product upselling and inventory management
Familiarity with makeup application and nail care services as complementary offerings
Excellent customer service skills to ensure a memorable experience that encourages repeat visits
Capable of mentoring new staff members and fostering a collaborative work environment
