Front Desk Leader

Mark Ryan Salon is looking for a Front Desk Leader to help lead the day-to-day guest experience and front desk operations at our Chelsea salon.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is warm, organized, confident, and exceptionally good with people. You’ll work closely with our Front of House Operations Manager while taking ownership of the successful execution of the front desk each day.

Our Front Desk Leader is someone who sees what’s happening across the salon, anticipates what’s needed, supports the team, and makes sure every guest feels genuinely cared for.

What You’ll Do

Lead the front desk team and the salon's daily flow.
Set the tone for a warm, thoughtful, and elevated guest experience
Direct front desk coverage, breaks, and priorities throughout the day
Monitor appointment flow and proactively address scheduling or timing issues
Handle guest questions, concerns, and service recovery with confidence and good judgment
Ensure calls, emails and text messages are handled promptly and professionally
Oversee opening, closing and daily cash procedures
Train and support new front desk team members
Maintain front desk and reception standards
Communicate closely with stylists, colorists, assistants and management to keep the day running smoothly
Identify problems before they become bigger problems and escalate when appropriate

Who We’re Looking For
You’re someone who naturally takes ownership. You notice when a guest has been waiting too long, when a team member needs help, or when something simply isn’t running the way it should—and you act.

You are warm and polished, highly organized, calm under pressure, and comfortable leading others while working alongside them. You communicate exceptionally well and know how to balance the needs of guests, the team and the business.

Experience in hospitality, luxury retail, salons, restaurants, hotels, wellness or another high-touch service environment is strongly valued. Previous salon experience is helpful, but great hospitality and leadership instincts matter more to us.

Compensation: $27–$30/hour, depending on experience.
