Experienced Hairstylist — Commission or Chair Rental

You Pretty Things is looking for an experienced hairstylist to join our warm, laid-back salon in the Silver Lake/Los Feliz area. We’re a fun, welcoming group with a little rock-and-roll spirit and a lot of heart, offering a relaxed, creative environment where the work is always high caliber. We value strong technique, beautiful results, and making every client feel comfortable, seen, and genuinely cared for.

We’re are looking for commission stylist and independent stylist interested in chair rental. More than anything, we’re looking for the right fit, someone who is confident in their craft, kind, dependable, professional, and excited to be part of a supportive salon community.

What We’re Looking For

A current California cosmetology or barbering license
Professional salon experience
Strong technical skills and genuine pride in your work
A thoughtful, warm approach to client care
Reliability, professionalism, and a positive presence
A true team player
Someone who works well independently while still contributing to the energy of the team
An existing or growing clientele, for chair-rental applicants
A professional Instagram or online portfolio that reflects your work and personal style
Current professional liability insurance

Our location is a major plus. We’re next to Gelson’s, Above Starbucks, across the street from Trader Joe’s, surrounded by great neighborhood spots, and there is easy, convenient parking for both stylists and clients.

Our salon is a great fit for someone who wants to do elevated work in a salon that feels creative, welcoming, unpretentious, and genuinely enjoyable to be part of.

The chair position is available for commission-based and independent chair-rental stylists. Because these are two different structures, commission rate and rental terms will be discussed directly with qualified applicants.
