Women’s Haircutting Specialist — Union Street Salon
Location: Downtown Nashville, TN
Union Street Salon is seeking an experienced Women’s Haircutting Specialist who is passionate about creating flattering, personalized haircuts. The ideal candidate combines precision and creativity with a strong understanding of shape, movement, texture, and how a haircut grows out between appointments.
Responsibilities
Conduct detailed consultations to understand each client’s desired look, hair concerns, styling routine, and maintenance preferences.
Specialize in women’s haircuts, including precision bobs, lobs, pixies, shags, long layers, face-framing cuts, and bangs.
Customize each haircut to complement the client’s face shape, natural texture, density, and growth patterns.
Confidently perform both subtle shape refinements and complete style transformations.
Apply wet- and dry-cutting techniques, graduation, layering, and texturizing as appropriate.
Preserve length and fullness where desired while creating balanced shape and movement.
Finish services with professional blowouts or texture-appropriate styling, checking the finished cut for balance and detail.
Teach clients how to recreate their style at home and recommend suitable products and maintenance appointments.
Maintain detailed client notes and build lasting relationships through consistent service.
Support apprentices and fellow stylists through demonstrations and technical guidance.
Maintain sanitized tools, a clean workstation, and dependable appointment timing.
Qualifications
Active Tennessee cosmetology license.
Proven experience specializing in women’s haircutting, supported by a strong portfolio.
Advanced understanding of precision cutting, layering, weight distribution, and face framing.
Experience working with fine, thick, straight, wavy, and curly hair.
Strong consultation skills and the ability to translate client inspiration into realistic, flattering results.
Professionalism, reliable attendance, and a collaborative attitude.
Advanced education in women’s haircutting preferred.
Pay: $4,000.00 - $8,000.00 per month
