Join Dennis Banguera Hair Salon, located in the vibrant Stonestown Galleria in San Francisco. We're looking for a motivated Cosmetology Apprentice to join our team and learn in a busy, high-end salon while earning a paycheck.
This paid apprenticeship provides hands-on training with experienced stylists as you work toward your California cosmetology license. You'll gain real-world salon experience, develop your technical and customer service skills, and build the foundation for a successful career in the beauty industry.
No salon experience is required—just a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. Bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates are highly preferred.
Duties
Assist licensed cosmetologists with hair styling, coloring, and hair extension applications to ensure client satisfaction.Learn to operate salon software systems such as Vagaro for appointment scheduling, client management, and retail sales tracking.Help manage front desk responsibilities including greeting clients, booking appointments, and handling client inquiries with professionalism.Participate in store management tasks such as inventory organization, retail product upselling, and retail math calculations to maximize sales opportunities.Maintain cleanliness standards by sanitizing tools, workstations, and treatment areas according to health regulations.Support mentoring efforts by observing experienced stylists and absorbing best practices for hair coloring, styling, and customer interaction.Skills
Strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients and team members.Willingness to learn professional haircutting, blow-drying, styling, color applications, shampooing, and salon best practices under the supervision of licensed cosmetologists.Experience working in the beauty industry or related fields is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.Knowledge of sanitation procedures to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff.Retail sales skills including upselling products and retail math to support store management goals.Excellent customer service skills to create welcoming experiences that encourage repeat visits.Requirements
