Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Chair Rental; Hair Stylist role based at Style Up Hair Studio in Comstock Park, MI. The stylist is responsible for providing a range of hair services such as cutting, coloring, styling, treatments, and basic consultations tailored to each client’s needs. Day-to-day tasks include greeting clients, discussing desired looks, recommending appropriate services and products, and maintaining a clean and organized station. The role also involves scheduling appointments, managing client relationships, and handling payments or rental-related business details as an independent professional. The stylist is expected to adhere to salon policies, follow health and safety standards, and contribute to a positive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

Valid cosmetology license in the state of Michigan and proven experience as a hair stylist in a salon setting.Strong technical skills in hair cutting, coloring, styling, and hair treatments, with attention to detail and client satisfaction.Ability to manage an independent chair rental business, including client scheduling, time management, and basic record-keeping.Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a professional, respectful approach to clients and colleagues.Commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with state and local health regulations.Comfort working full time on-site in Comstock Park, MI, with a reliable means of transportation.Willingness to build and grow a personal clientele, including basic marketing or social media promotion of services.Previous experience in chair rental or booth rental environments is beneficial but not required.
