Duties

Create a variety of braid styles tailored to each client’s preferences, including classic, trendy, and custom designs
Provide product demonstrations and educate clients on hair care products suitable for their hair type and style needs
Assist customers in selecting retail products such as styling tools, hair accessories, and maintenance products to complement their look
Maintain an organized and well-stocked workspace by managing inventory levels and replenishing supplies as needed
Upsell retail items by highlighting product benefits during consultations and styling sessions
Deliver excellent customer service by listening carefully to client requests, answering questions with clear communication, and ensuring a positive experience
Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately for retail transactions, handle cash register operations, and manage cash drawer handling with integrity

Qualifications

Proven experience in hairstyling or braiding, with a strong portfolio or references preferred
Supervising experience is a plus, especially in managing team members or training new staff
Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve a diverse clientele effectively
Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills to engage confidently with clients and team members
Knowledge of retail sales techniques including upselling, merchandising, and product demos
Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math for accurate transactions
Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build rapport quickly and professionally
Basic math skills for managing cash register operations and retail transactions
Experience in grocery store or retail environments is advantageous but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key

Pay: $25.50 - $30.71 per hour
