Role Description The Barber/Stylist will provide a full range of hair services, including cutting, styling, and grooming for a diverse clientele in an on-site salon located in Southern Pines, NC. This contract role involves consulting with clients to understand their preferences, recommending suitable styles and hair care solutions, and delivering services such as haircuts, shaves, beard trims, blowouts, and finishing styles. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining a clean and sanitized workstation, managing appointment times, using professional tools safely, and following salon policies and state cosmetology and barbering regulations. The Barber/Stylist will also support a positive client experience by offering courteous service, promoting recommended products, and collaborating with team members to maintain a professional salon atmosphere.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Hair Cutting and Barbering skills, including precision cuts, fades, and grooming services.Candidates should possess Hair Styling and Hair Care skills, including blow-drying, finishing styles, and product knowledge to support healthy hair.Candidates should possess Cosmetology skills, including understanding of hair types, basic chemical services, and state cosmetology standards.Valid North Carolina Barber or Cosmetology license (or eligibility to obtain) and compliance with all state board sanitation and safety requirements.Previous experience in a barbershop or salon setting, with a client-centered approach and strong communication skills.Ability to work independently under a contract arrangement, manage time effectively, and maintain a professional demeanor with all clients.Comfort working with diverse clients and hair types; experience with modern and classic styles is beneficial.Reliable attendance, respect for inclusive workplace practices, and willingness to participate in ongoing training or skill development.
