CG’s Hair Studio is a thriving boutique salon in the Houston/Spring area with 9+ years of experience. We are building a team of motivated beauty professionals who are passionate about creating exceptional client experiences while working in a supportive, structured, and professional environment.

Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Stylist / Stylist in Training who wants to grow into a full-time stylist position. This role is perfect for someone who is licensed, newly graduated, or currently in cosmetology school and wants hands-on salon experience, mentorship, and a clear growth path.

We are looking for someone who is serious about building a long-term career with our salon and is committed to growing with our team.

Key Responsibilities

Client Support: Assist stylists with shampoos, blowouts, toners, treatments, color services, setup, and breakdown

Client Experience: Greet clients, offer refreshments, support client comfort, and help create a welcoming salon experience

Salon Support: Help with laundry, cleaning, restocking, station resets, sweeping, towels, capes, and daily salon tasks

Training: Participate in salon training, review the training guide, and complete assigned models

Front Desk Support: Learn how to answer phones, book appointments, check out clients, and collect client information

Prebooking: Help encourage clients to schedule their next appointment before they leave

Retail Sales: Learn how to recommend professional products based on client needs

Team Contribution: Support stylists during busy times and use downtime productively without waiting to be asked

Marketing: Help with before/after photos, salon content, social media posts, and client engagement

Social Media Requirements

All team members are expected to support salon marketing and help build their personal brand.

Must have an active Instagram account

Share salon posts to Instagram stories weekly

Post or participate in salon-related content consistently

Help take before/after photos when needed

Support salon promotions and client outreach

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

Texas cosmetology license, currently enrolled in cosmetology school, or recently graduated

Strong desire to grow into a stylist role

Professional appearance and communication

Reliable, punctual, and consistent

Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

Willingness to learn, take feedback, and follow salon systems

Must be available Saturdays

Preferred, But Not Required:

Basic shampooing, blowout, toning, or color application experience

Customer service or salon experience

Interest in color, blonding, cutting, styling, treatments, or extensions

Bilingual English/Spanish

Social media presence or willingness to post salon content

Growing confidence in retail recommendations and prebooking conversations

Showing initiative during downtime

Schedule & Compensation

Days: Tuesday–Saturday, closed Sundays and Mondays

Hours: Salon hours are 10:00 AM–7:00 PM

Schedule: Full-time or part-time available based on salon needs

Starting Pay: $10–$12 + tips when applicable.

Pay Growth: Pay may increase based on experience, performance, and completed training milestones

Growth: Opportunity to grow into a commission-based stylist position
