GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE
The Assistant Hair Stylist plays a vital role by engaging with guests, understanding their hair care needs, and recommending tailored products and services. This temporary position aims to prepare individuals for a stylist role by emphasizing excellent service. Initially, you will support an Elite or Master Stylist for the first three months, focusing on enhancing performance, strengthening guest relations, and understanding operational processes. In months four through six, you will expand your responsibilities to include servicing your own guests. A passion for beauty, exemplary guest service, and a willingness to hone your technical skills are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)

Performance: Deliver outstanding guest service and contribute to achieving store goals related to sales and guest loyalty.Support your mentor Stylist in driving sales and productivity for hair services and products through:Product add-on recommendationsAssisting with the shampoo and treatment processBlowouts and stylingColor applications and retouchingAssisting with foilsCleaning and organizingPre-booking guestsRetail recommendationsAfter the first three months, perform a variety of hair services including haircuts, color, treatments, styling, and makeup applications.Conduct product demonstrations to elevate the guest experience and drive sales.Assist in executing in-store events and promotions that create a remarkable guest experience.Stay current with industry trends and product knowledge, ensuring excellent guest service.Maintain regular attendance.People: Build guest relationships through personalized consultations and appropriate service recommendations.Efficiently serve all guests, including walk-ins, under the guidance of your mentor.Create partnerships with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.Establish professional relationships to enhance guest service collaboration.Promote the guest loyalty program benefits effectively.Process: Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies and procedures.Follow safety and sanitation standards consistently.Adhere to established service protocols to guarantee a consistent guest experience.Utilize booking systems for guest appointments.Communicate supply needs to maintain guest readiness.Uphold high standards of operational cleanliness within the store.Participate in mandatory training to support continuous professional development.Adhere to the company dress code.Follow loss prevention best practices to protect company assets.Execute additional operational tasks as assigned.JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
A cosmetology license is required.

Skills

Basic knowledge of salon techniques for haircutting, coloring, styling, and treatments.Familiarity with equipment and chemicals used in technical work.Ability to demonstrate and recommend hair care and makeup products.Effective communication skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Capability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The pay range for this position is between $15.00 - $16.80 per hour, with potential for tips. Full-time associates are eligible for comprehensive benefits including paid time off and health insurance.
